Officiency, Inc. Launches Online e-Learning Email Management Training Series

Officiency, Inc. is excited to announce the launch of our first series, Email Management Training, on our new, online training platform. This interactive and self-paced e-learning format training can now be viewed online.

With email volume growing at a rate of 66% a year (E-Policy Institute), and the average worker now spending over two hours a day managing email, it is vital that employees be as efficient as possible with email management.

Each course includes a variety of best practices, strategies, tutorials, tips and resources related to becoming a better email manager. Training can be accessed anywhere, anytime and from any computer with Internet access. The trainings offer a wide-variety of course features everything from activities, quizzes, personal skill builders that all meet accessibility requirements.

The cost of the training is $167 for each user. Officiency, Inc. Launches New Guidebook to Improve Computer Organization on Shared Drive Networks

(September 4, 2012, Boulder, CO) Officiency, Inc. launched today a new report called How to Organize Electronic Documents for Shared Drive Network that focuses on to organize electronic documents on shared drive networks and server systems.

This 80-page guidebook is designed to guide IT staff, technology, organizing and/or productivity consultants (or assigned project managers) in a process to organize electronic documents on shared drive networks. This guide describes the steps—from assessment to implementation—required to establish a common practice for managing electronic documentation on a shared drive network.

This guide provides instructions to use the Microsoft Excel document named "Shared Drive Guidelines and File Structure Template Form," a worksheet that was developed to use to tailor and document specific document management guidelines for each organization. This worksheet is provided with the guidebook as part of the purchase.

Although many organizations feel that members of their IT and/or administrative departments can manage this aspect, often these areas are unsure how to facilitate, manage or proceed with this type of project. Founder of Officiency Volunteers in Nigeria

(Boulder, CO)—Founder of Officiency, Inc. K.J. McCorry will be traveling to Nigeria, Africa for two weeks in February 2008 to donate time to help improve systems and processes for a local medical and AIDS/ HIV clinic named Faith Alive.

Faith Alive http://www.faithalivenigeria.org/ is a non-profit organization based in Nigeria, Colorado. Faith Alive is the only free clinic available in Nigeria that provides comprehensive HIV/AIDS care, support and treatment along with general medical practice services. It also provides social services to help victims of AIDS be self sustaining and provides education on sewing, knitting, computer along with other community outreach programs and support groups.

K.J. worked with Faith Alive in 2007 to help set up an electronic financial system software and process. This upcoming trip she hopes to improve their patient record management system. “This is an opportunity to give my expertise and skill to an organization and nation that is dealing with a major health care crisis. The staff at Faith Alive are so eager to learn and improve their systems in order to increase their own efficiency to assist more patients. I am so delighted to help!” says McCorry.

Start the New Year Right—Get Your Data Under Control!

(Boulder, CO)—As most of American workers begin their work-week in the New Year, it is difficult to come back to the deluge of email, electronic files and paper. Below are some tips to help the office worker take the first step in managing the deluge of data.

Archive 2006 email. Go through your email in-box and archive all 2006 emails and begin a new file folder system for 2007. Most email programs have the capability to archive email into a separate file from your primary profile which is recommended to not exceed capacity with most networked server systems.

Go paperless, become more electronic with information. In today’s electronic world, all documentation is electronic based. Begin this year to minimize the paper that you print and keep the data electronically. Take time to set up, and purge, your electronic file structure so you have a ‘home’ for all documentation.

Have a ‘purge’ day. Create time before your holiday break to purge your desktop and paper files. Sort items on your desktop into these categories; action, database, to file, distribute to others, take home and of course, recycle.

K.J. McCorry nominated for prestigious Founders Award

The Founders Award is given to individuals who have done the most to further the industry of professional organizing. The winner of the award will be announced at the NAPO annual conference on March 25, 2006 in Boston.

The Founders' Award is presented to one NAPO member for outstanding contributions to the organizing profession. K.J. was nominated for her recent work as the Team Lead for the Certification Committee, she was also the Public Relations Chairperson from 1998-2002 and did considerable work promoting NAPO and the industry to national media. K.J. has been a leading specialist in development of electronic and computer organization services. She has shared her process at past NAPO conferences as a lead presenter. K.J. also contributed to the foundation of the GO Week Community Service Project Program launched in 2003.
